Therapy

My approach to therapy begins with a comprehensive assessment where I will take the time to get to know you and your goals for therapy. This includes an 80-minute intake where we will look at what has worked and not worked in the past and what is working or not working currently.
Depending on your needs, we will set up regular recurring appointments (55 minutes)-either weekly or every other week or we will create a flexible schedule where you have brief-solution-focused appointments that are as needed (25 minutes).
Together we will explore thought patterns that may not be serving you well, strategies for connection and relaxation, communication techniques, trauma repair, and values-based living. I often include handouts and guides as part of our work together and I will regularly ask for your feedback and make adjustments based on your responses. The approaches I include in our session include motivational interviewing, mindfulness, solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and Brainspotting.
Therapy sessions with me are working visits but this work can include fun and laughter (and tears) and I hope you will always feel welcome, supported, and challenged for growth.
