If you work with new moms, their babies, or their partners...

This is a resource you are going to want to share!

MIND Mom Landing.png

We see new parents struggling. We just haven't had the resources to provide the support they need...until now.

  • At least 1 in 7 moms will experience postpartum depression. Rates in minority and disadvantaged populations may be as high as 1 in 3.

  • An estimated 1 in 10 fathers experiences postpartum depression.

  • If a mom experiences postpartum depression, there is a 50% chance that her non-birthing partner will also experience postpartum depression.

  • Up to 90% of new parents will experience intrusive anxious thoughts that are disturbing and cause distress.

  • As many as 1 in 4 parents who have NICU experience will endorse symptoms of post-traumatic stress.

  • A woman's greatest lifetime risk for psychiatric hospitalization is in the first year postpartum.

  • Postpartum depression can affect moms with any pregnancy.

  • Suicide is one of the three leading causes of maternal death.

  • Depression and mood disorders can occur during pregnancy.

  • 50% of women with bipolar disorder are first diagnosed in the postpartum period.

Did you know...the provider most often in a position to recognize a new parent needs support is actually not their PCP?

It is essential that every provider who encounters new parents knows how to screen and refer parents for mental health support. Check out my free webinar and I will show you how to do this in any setting.

A contributing factor to maternal mood and anxiety symptoms throughout pregnancy and postpartum is the mom's perceived support.

As healthcare providers working under the constraints of our system, it is difficult to provide the level of support a client needs in the typical office encounter-even if the client is receiving regular psychotherapy.

Medical providers do not typically have the training (or time) needed to provide mental health support and patients do not have the training to understand and ask for the support they need.

It is essential that moms (and dads) receive the mental health support they need in their day-to-day lives!

Wouldn't it be nice if...

When you encounter a mom who is experiencing distress, including mood or anxiety symptoms in pregnancy or the postpartum experience, you could provide a resource to help her and her partner start building mental health knowledge and skills.

If you are working with a mom and her partner to also have services (which are not available logistically), wouldn't it be nice to have a resource for her partner that is available anytime and anywhere?

Now you can!

INTRODUCING THE
MIND that Momma Workshop

A practical and engaging online workshop where I train the partners of new moms how to best support their partner and develop their own mental health skills. EVERY mom needs support.

Knowledge. Power. Hope. Support...for your clients and their partners.

Wait...Who is this for?!

I'm glad you asked! This course is directed to anyone supporting a new mom (whether it is her first baby or 5th). However, you will quickly find that this is a course that works for both parents.  While each lesson "speaks to" the non-birthing partner, the lessons apply to both parents and are great conversation starters for their path to connection and mental wellbeing.

A really common scenario when I work with clients is a request that I explain whatever is going on with the client's partner.

Another common scenario is "I want help but I don't want to ask for it and right now I'm too frustrated to be able to speak my needs with kindness. Honestly, I don't think I should have to. It should be apparent without my asking."

And finally, "He's trying. I can see he's trying but it doesn't matter, I'm tired and angry no matter what. I don't know how to explain what I need when I don't understand myself."

My favorite way for clients to utilize this workshop is for the supporting partner (non-birthing partner) to take the workshop on their own and take time after each lesson to share and discuss what they learned with their partner.

This workshop is for your clients and their partners!
